January 6-7, 2012 (Fri.-Sat.): Anti-Freeze Blues Festival - Ferndale
A benefit for the Detroit Blues Society. Held at The Magic Bag on Woodward, just north of 9 Mile Rd. Doors open at 7pm. $20 cover each night.

January 27-28, 2012 (Fri.-Sat.): Ann Arbor Folk Festival - Ann Arbor
35th Annual. A fundraiser for The Ark, with some of the finest traditional and contemporary artists. The Festival returns to The Hill Auditorium for two dynamic and different nights of folk and roots music. All funds raised through the festival benefit The Ark, Ann Arbor's non-profit home for folk, roots, and ethnic music. Concerts begin both nights at 6:30pm. Tickets start at $35.

January 27 - Feb 4, 2012: Ferndale Blues Festival - Ferndale
Averaging more than 60 concerts, held over nine days, at two dozen locations in the region, 100% of the proceeds go to local charities. Official lineup of artists to be released about 2 weeks before the event. Check link above for details.

February 10-11, 2012 (Fri.-Sat.): Cooper's Glen Music Festival - Kalamazoo
Held at the Radisson Plaza Hotel. 8 grassroots and acoustic performers, workshops and family activities. Advance tickets start at $20, $30 at the door. GLAMA members, $5 discount.

February 11, 2012 (Sat.): Winter Microbrew & Music Festival - Traverse City
Outdoor festival held in The Village at Grand Traverse Commons. Craft beer, live music and great local food.  Ticket includes: Five 7oz. pours, tasting cup, all entertainment and free shuttles between downtown and The Village. $30 at the door. 21 and over.

February 29 - March 3, 2012 (Wed.-Sat.): Metro Times Blowout - Hamtramck
15th Annual.  The largest local music festival in the nation, with more than 5,000 annual attendees over three days. Hundreds of local musicians in dozens of different Hamtramck venues. It continues to be the best and longest-running local music event by highlighting the best talent and helping artists into the spotlight.

March 16- 17, 2012: WO-STOCK - Holland
Presented by The West Ottawa CTEE (Cultural, Technological, Environmental, Exchange). Up to 40 bands over the course of two nights on two stages. All monetary funds collected from the event will be put towards the CTEE mission to further provide distant learning opportunities for students both here in West Michigan and abroad in Cameroon, Africa. Tickets are $10 single day pass. $15 two day pass.
