The Bowzies folk group is a union of three musicians who have been performing celtic folk music in the Detroit metro area for many years. The term “bowzie” refers to a part of a sailing ship’s mast rigging. It is also Dublin slang for a young good-for-nothing person. Any resemblance between these items and the members of the band is purely coincidental.
